JEST’s impact in SCIE and CPCI-S is significantly improved
According to the latest official statistic data at the end of 2016, the impact factor for five years (IF5) in Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Conference Proceedings Citation Index–Science (CPCI-S), a main factor to evaluate JEST’s impact in statistical sources, has been significantly improved in past 3 years. From 2011 to 2015, JEST (Journal of Electronic Science and Technology with ISSN 1974-862X) has totally published 337 papers with 87 times cited in SCIE and 92 times in CPCI-S summing to 179 times. Based on the definition of IF5, JEST’s IF5 in SCIE is 0.26 and 0.27 in CPCI-S. The aggregate IF5 is 0.53. This indicator is remarkably increased by 60.6% compared with that in 2014.
JEST, launched in December 2003, focused on state-of-the-art achievements in electronic science and technology, is one of the earlier English journals launched in China. In the past 5 years, JEST has paid more attention to internationalization with more than 50% papers published from overseas including America, Britain, France, Germany, Australia, etc. JEST is now collaborated with IEEE, IACSIT, and IET, and fully indexed by Scopus, Ei INSPEC, DOAJ, CA, CSCD.
Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Conference Proceedings Citation Index–Science (CPCI-S) are the core collection of Web of ScienceTM (WoS) and the important citation database in the field of natural sciences and engineering. WoS now has indexing coverage from the year 1900 to the present. As of 3 September 2014, the multidisciplinary coverage of the Web of Science encompasses over 50,000 scholarly books, 12,000 journals, and 160,000 conference proceedings. The selection is made on the basis of impact evaluations and comprises open-access journals, spanning multiple academic disciplines. The coverage includes: the sciences, social sciences, arts, and humanities, and goes across disciplines.
The IF5 of a journal is defined as the ratio of the number of citations received in one year by articles published in that journal during the five preceding years to the total number of articles published in that journal during the five preceding years.
